Stephen Seddon, Director of Seddon Engineering Holdings Limited, owners of WINGET Limited have announced the appointment of a new Joint Managing Director to join Steve Hodge and the team who manufacture and supply a range of high-quality Site Mixers and Dumpers across the UK and Overseas.  Phil Winnington joined the business on 1st April, to head up the Commercial element of this long established and highly respected company to complement fellow MD Steve Hodge whose engineering and technical experience has been the backbone of the organisation for over 45 years.

Phil joins WINGET from Morris Site Machinery where he was MD and most recently, International Business Director leading the charge post Brexit vote to expand their export business and delivering impressive growth in regions such as Australasia, the Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe. Prior to this Phil was Sales & Marketing Director of Seddons Plant & Engineers Ltd for 13 years.

“Having been associated with the WINGET Brand previously whilst at Seddons, I was thrilled at the opportunity to apply the learnings and experiences gained via another UK manufacturer over the last 9 years” Phil explains… “WINGET has been a well renowned name in the Industry for over 110 years, one that’s associated with Quality Site Mixers and Dumpers and the challenge of expanding the business in the home market and around the Globe really appeals”.

“I look forward to meeting current Customers, future prospects, Distributors and Suppliers alike. We will all need to work closely as a team to support the ‘new future’ when it arrives”

Steve Hodge commented: “When Stephen Seddon first mentioned finding a Commercial Director to join the business, I fully supported the initiative and was really pleased when I learnt Phil was the candidate identified to partner me as he understands WINGET’s DNA and is entirely the right fit for the company”

The Company is part of a diverse fifth-generation family business group based out of Farnworth, Bolton in Lancashire which includes Seddons Plant & Engineers Ltd who are also WINGET Distributors alongside several others across the UK & Ireland and Overseas where it aims to increase its sales network globally.

“This is an important time for Phil to join our business regardless of the challenges that we, like others will be faced with post-pandemic, the Brand has remained steadfast and sustained many challenges since it was first established in 1908 and there will be new opportunities to seek out in the future and I am particularly looking forward to his strategic and managerial contribution” Stephen Seddon concluded.
